SIMMER AND JACK LANDFILL SITE RESUMES OPERATIONS

The Simmer and Jack landfill site in Germiston is back to being fully operational, following a temporary closure due to the fire that engulfed the facility on Sunday evening, 15 May 2022.

As of Friday, 20 May, all municipal waste removal trucks, private trucks and general members of the public have been able to access the facility to enjoy the service of dumping waste at a landfill site closest to them.

During the closure of the Simmer and Jack landfill site, patrons were utilizing Weltevreden landfill site in Brakpan, Rietfontein landfill site in KwaThema and Platkop landfill site near the N3 highway in Heidelberg.

The city wishes to thank all its customers for their patience during the time of closure of the Simmer and Jack landfill site.
