WASTE REMOVAL SERVICES RESUME IN KWATHEMA, DUDUZA, TSAKANI, LANGAVILLE, ACTONVILLE

Waste removal has been restored to Eastern parts of Ekurhuleni which experienced an interruption for the better part of last week.

Solid waste trucks are out and about rendering the service and addressing the backlog that was created in areas such as Tsakani, Duduza, KwaThema, Langaville, Wattville, and Actonville, when service providers pulled out due to a misunderstanding about payments.

The service providers returned to work Tuesday, 28 November, and will continue to work extra hours to cover the backlog and ensure that services are normalised as soon as possible.

Efforts are underway to restore the service in Daveyton and Etwatwa by tomorrow Thursday, 30 November 2023.

Considering the fact that waste removal services were not carried out for some days, service providers have been instructed to collect extra refuse bags including the 240-litre bins.

Meanwhile, additional information regarding the current situation and developments will be communicated on the city’s digital platforms and through ward Councillors.

The city apologises for the inconvenience this has caused.
