CITY CONDEMNS FAKE NEWS ABOUT WATER QUALITY IN LANGAVILLE

The City of Ekurhuleni strongly condemns the recent dissemination of fake news following the circulation of a video showing dirty water with a red substance coming from taps.

This misinformation has caused unnecessary panic among residents, especially those from Langaville Extension 7, Brakpan where the alleged video was taken.

“We want to reassure the community that the City conducts daily water sampling, and our results consistently confirm that the water supply is safe and meets all health standards.

“Additionally, we are proud to announce that our water supply systems have received the prestigious National Blue Drop Certification, reflecting our commitment to maintaining high-quality drinking water,” emphases the MMC for Water and Sanitation Thembi Msane.

The certification bestowed the City of Ekurhuleni as the best-performing municipality in terms of water quality management. 

Thus, residents of Ekurhuleni are urged to rely on official communications from the City and to avoid sharing unverified information that can create confusion and fear within communities.
