  • The water supply system in the CoE has improved following a series of supply disruptions from bulk supplier Rand Water;
  • Other municipalities are still affected, therefore RW is continuing to implement technical interventions to balance the supply to the province;
  • Reservoirs across the system were at 40% at 06:00 this morning and all areas are receiving water, including Tsakani and Kwa-Thema.
  • Parts of Germiston which are supplied from the Rusell Roads reservoir and Churchill pump station are currently impacted my low water pressure to no water due to high water demand and consumption.
  • In order to maintain supply to all consumers throughout the long weekend and Spring season, the City appeals to customers to prioritise water conservation in their daily lives;
  • The City of Ekurhuleni urge customers, consumers and all citizens to conserve water including implementing the following water saving tips:
    • The CoE has a prohibition on irrigation between the hours of 07:00 and 17:00 in place. Therefore residents and businesses should not water their gardens between these hours.

    • Refrain from filling-up swimming pools until the water supply system has stabilised.
    • Do not clean paved areas and driveways with clean drinking water and wash cars using buckets.
    • Take a two-minute long shower instead of using bathtubs.
