A BOOST FOR MATRICULANTS TO FURTHER THEIR STUDIES

The City of Ekurhuleni, in partnership with the private sector and key stakeholders, are inviting matriculants with a strong academic track record to apply for financial assistance towards undergraduate studies at any of the South African universities.

Bursaries are available in the following fields of study:

  • Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM);
  • Information and Media Studies;
  • Transport and Aviation;
  • Commerce & Finance;
  • Built Environment;
  • Law;
  • Information, Communication, and Digital Technologies; and
  • Health and Medical Sciences.

Requirements for eligibility are:

  • You must be a South African citizen and a resident of Ekurhuleni;
  • Proof of academic performance is required;
  • A reference letter from a community leader or a person of good standing in the community;
  • Certified copies of the applicant’s ID and their parents’ IDs;
  • Proof of eligibility for university entrance; and
  • Proof of household income (total household income must be less than R600,000.00 annually).

It should be noted that if the applicant does not have one or both parents, death certificates and an affidavit must be provided.
