WORK READINESS PROGRAMME AND EXHIBITION IN CELEBRATION OF YOUTH MONTH
As part of Youth Month celebrations, the City of Ekurhuleni today kick-started a dynamic Work Readiness Programme and Exhibition at the Alberton Civic Centre.
The two-day activation started today and closes tomorrow (27 June). It brings together candidates from the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) and the Ekurhuleni Public Employment Programme (EPEP) for an engaging experience filled with interactive workshops, exhibitions, and valuable networking opportunities.
The event also provides a platform for nearly 2,000 newly recruited candidates, who will commence their roles in the new financial year starting in July, to connect with local businesses, government representatives, and youth leaders.
“By providing temporary employment opportunities through EPWP and EPEP, the City is empowering the youth with much-needed work experience while contributing to a more sustainable economic future. This initiative does not only support job creation but also strengthens service delivery within our communities,” says MMC for Development Planning and Real Estate Ald Nomadlozi Nkosi.
These engagements are designed to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge to enhance their work readiness and career prospects.
