CITY OF EKURHULENI

AMENDMENT OF CONTRACT DEMS 01/2016

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVENin terms of section 116(3) of the MFMA give provisions to extend contract DEMS 01/2016: THE APPOINTMENT OF A CONTRACTOR FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW ALBERTINA SISULU CORRIDOR FIRE STATION IN KEMPTON PARK.

  1. Reason for dispensing with the prescribed procedure:

With due regard to administrative efficiency and effectiveness the original contract amount has been extended with an amount exceeding twenty (20) percent of the original bid value to complete the construction of the new Albertina Sisulu Corridor Fire Station. This is due to the opening of an existing “aquiver” which was not detected during normal geotechnical investigations and is totally unforeseen. It should also be noted that the site is in close proximity of an existing wetland.

  1. Summary of the requirements of the goods or service:

To supply Emergency Services to the community and more especially to development along the R21 Corridor. The sub-soil conditions must be stabilized to continue construction of this much needed facility to service the area.

INVITATION FOR PUBLIC COMMENTS

The CoE invites written comments or representations from the public, National Treasury and the Gauteng Provincial Treasury in respect of amendment of a contract. Comments should be directed to:
